ST. ALBANS, W.Va. — Two men from St. Albans were arrested after allegedly stealing fishing gear from pontoon boats docked along the Kanawha River, according to the St. Albans Police Department.

Joshua Lacy, 40, has been charged with three counts of entering a vessel and one count of conspiracy, while Eric Nunley, 45, faces four conspiracy charges.

Officers responded Tuesday to Lou Wendell Marine after a report of a man climbing a fence to access the dock. Police located Lacy and Nunley nearby in possession of a large amount of fishing equipment.

Investigators say Lacy climbed over the fence to steal fishing poles from the pontoon boats, passing them to Nunley on the other side.

The stolen gear is estimated to be worth more than $1,000.

Both men are being held at South Central Regional Jail on $5,000 cash-only bails.
