Two men from Punjab were arrested in Gandhidham, Kutch district, in the early hours of Sunday with 29 grams of cocaine valued at Rs 29 lakh. The duo, identified as Jaswinder Singh (48) and Satnam Singh (22), were detained at Mukesh Guest House, located near the Gandhidham Bus Station.

The arrest followed a tip-off about the suspects, who were reportedly from Tarn Taran district in Punjab and were believed to be in possession of narcotics. Acting on the intelligence, the Gandhidham City B Division police carried out the operation. The substance seized from the suspects’ room was later confirmed to be cocaine by forensic experts.

The police have taken both men into custody and are interrogating them to determine the source of the drugs and the intended recipients in the Kutch region. Investigators are also probing whether the arrested individuals have previous involvement in drug trafficking activities.

The two men have been charged under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
