Two Plainview men were arrested in connection with the theft of several items from the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) Plainview Tower building, located in Rapides Parish.

Myron Houston, 27, is being held for burglary and four counts of felony theft. He is currently in custody at the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office on unrelated charges. Meanwhile, George Perkins Jr., 50, also of Plainview, was arrested for possession of stolen property and obstruction of justice related to the investigation.

The stolen property, valued at approximately $9,900, included a 2021 Honda ATV, a burn tank sprayer, a Stihl chainsaw, and a Stihl backpack blower. Authorities were able to recover all stolen items.

As with all legal matters, the suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
