In a significant drug bust, the State Monitoring Cell (SMC) arrested two Nigerians on charges of drug trafficking and seized amphetamine and methamphetamine valued at Rs1.26 crore. The suspects were identified as Kelichiku Aze Francis, 40, a resident of Vasai, Maharashtra, and Akimwanmi Taiwo David, 28, a resident of Palghar, Maharashtra.

The duo was found with 252 grams of amphetamine and 14 milligrams of methamphetamine in their possession. Acting on a tip-off, the SMC team intercepted the suspects in Vapi, where they were expected to deliver a consignment of prohibited drugs near the railway overbridge.

During their interrogation, Francis and David revealed that the drugs were sent by an individual named Chachu from Mumbai. The drugs were meant for an unknown person in Vapi, who had placed the order. Both Chachu and the unidentified person are now wanted in connection with the case.

The SMC is continuing its investigation into the drug trafficking network and is working to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.
