Two New York Men Arrested in Norwich for Online Scam

Yudong Li and Kun Chen Face Larceny Charges After Defrauding Victim

Yudong Li, 30, of Queens, N.Y., and Kun Chen, 32, of Brooklyn, N.Y., were arrested on Tuesday in Norwich, Connecticut, after a victim lost a significant sum of money in an online scam. Both men are facing charges of criminal attempt and larceny in the first degree. They are being held on $150,000 bonds and appeared in Norwich Superior Court on Wednesday.

According to Norwich police, Li and Chen orchestrated the scam, leading the victim to believe they were conducting legitimate financial transactions. After the victim lost an initial sum of money, investigators discovered that the suspects attempted to steal even more.

The Norwich Police Detective Division, in collaboration with the Connecticut State Police BSI Joint Task Force, coordinated a meeting with the suspects, leading to their arrest.

Police are urging anyone who believes they may have been victims of fraud to contact the Norwich Police Department at 860-886-5561.
