The district police have apprehended two more suspects in connection with a Rs73 lakh cyber fraud targeting a law firm. The newly arrested individuals, Bharat Parik and Jaiprakash, were taken into custody from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, on Friday. With these arrests, the total number of accused in the case now stands at four.
The case arose from a complaint filed by Gagan Anand, a Mansa Devi resident, on March 13, 2024. Anand reported that Rs73 lakh had been fraudulently withdrawn from his law firm’s bank account. Investigations revealed that the fraud was carried out using fake emails and counterfeit SIM cards obtained through illegal documents.
Earlier arrests include Latur Singh Meena and Sunil Kumar, both residents of Jodhpur, who were taken into custody in April and August respectively. Sunil Kumar was sent to judicial custody on August 8. Bharat Parik and Jaiprakash were presented before the court on Saturday and remanded to police custody for five days for further investigation.
