Two More Arrested in Connection with Tabu Das Holi Murder

Investigations continue into fatal assault during Holi celebrations

The Basistha Police have arrested two additional suspects in connection with the murder of 40-year-old Tabu Das, which occurred during the Holi celebrations in Bangali Basti, Latakota Path. The arrested individuals, identified as Dependra Ch. Dev alias Shibu (43) and Subhash Roy (28), were detained after a thorough investigation into the violent incident.

The main accused, Pintu Ray alias Bekra (20), was apprehended within 24 hours of the murder. He had initially fled the scene but was later arrested in Jalukbari.

According to police reports, the fatal confrontation took place among four painters who were consuming alcohol during Holi festivities. What began as a minor dispute escalated into violence, resulting in Tabu Das being brutally assaulted. He was rushed to GMCH, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The case, registered under Basistha PS Case No. 156/25, has been filed under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to gather more details surrounding the circumstances of the crime.
