Two men have been sentenced for their roles in a County Lines drug trafficking operation linking Aberdeen and Birmingham. Fleury Tsaty, 29, was sentenced to three years and three months in prison at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on June 28, 2024. His co-defendant, 19-year-old Wasem Sharif, was given an 18-month community payback order.
The men were arrested in September 2022 following coordinated raids across Aberdeen’s Seaton area and multiple locations in Birmingham. During the operation, authorities recovered heroin, crack cocaine, and herbal cannabis with a total street value of £18,500. In addition, mobile phones and a three-figure sum of cash were seized, providing further evidence of their involvement in the illegal operation.
This sentencing follows an intelligence-led investigation into County Lines drug trafficking, a significant issue impacting both cities. The investigation was carried out by Police Scotland with the assistance of West Midlands Police.
Detective Constable Robert Graham of Police Scotland emphasized the harm caused by drugs in communities, highlighting the agency’s ongoing commitment to dismantling organised crime groups through the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce. He added: “We are working hard to ensure Scotland is a hostile environment for those engaging in criminal activities involving illegal substances.”
