TOWN OF WALLKILL, N.Y. — Two men were arrested early Thursday, March 27, after a vehicle stop by Wallkill Town Police on Route 17 East.

At around 1:40 a.m., officers observed a vehicle driven by Royale Green, 36, of Knightdale, North Carolina, making an unsafe lane change and failing to signal. Police initiated a stop, which led to the discovery of cocaine and stolen U.S. mail.

The mail was confirmed to have been taken from the Scotchtown Post Office branch’s mail drop box. Green, the driver, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and other violations, including an open alcohol container in the vehicle and unsafe driving. He was also wanted on a nationwide felony warrant for financial identity crimes in Georgia.

Solomon Barnes, 34, of the Bronx, was the passenger in the vehicle. He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and possession of alcohol in the vehicle, before being released on an appearance ticket.

Green was remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail, while Barnes is set to appear in court for his charges.
