SAN JOSE, Calif. — Two men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident in May that left a man seriously injured, authorities announced Wednesday.

The San Jose Police Department responded to a local hospital at approximately 1:13 a.m. when a man arrived with multiple stab wounds. Investigators learned the victim was assaulted by several men about 90 minutes earlier on the 1000 block of North Fourth Street, near the U.S. Highway 101 and Highway 87 interchange.

The victim was found unconscious at the scene with life-threatening injuries. Witnesses transported him to the hospital, while the suspects fled before police arrived.

After a thorough investigation, officers identified 42-year-old Cesar Castellanos and 45-year-old David Ramirez as suspects. Arrest and search warrants were issued for both men and their residences. On July 24, Castellanos was apprehended in Oakland, and Ramirez was arrested in Salinas.

Both men were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges of attempted homicide and assault with a deadly weapon. During the searches, detectives also discovered an unregistered firearm.

The San Jose Police Department continues to investigate the case.
