Two men were arrested after police seized 165 grams of MD drugs during an operation on the Mhow–Neemuch Highway in Ratlam district on Saturday.
The operation was conducted by the Ringnod Police following a tip-off about suspected drug trafficking activity in the area.
The accused were identified as Karulal (25), a resident of Rajasthan, and Farid (35), a resident of Ratlam.
According to police officials, the seized MD drugs (Mephedrone) are estimated to be worth around Rs16.5 lakh in the illegal market.
During the operation, officers also confiscated a motorcycle and a moped allegedly used in the trafficking activity. With the addition of the vehicles, the total value of the seized material is estimated at approximately Rs17.3 lakh.
A case has been registered against the accused at Ringnod Police Station under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act).
Police officials said further investigation is underway to identify possible links to a larger drug supply network operating in the region.
