Two Drug Peddlers Arrested with Heroin in Udhampur

Police recover over 11 grams of heroin in separate busts

In two separate operations under the jurisdiction of Udhampur Police Station, two drug peddlers were arrested today during routine patrols.

While patrolling near Flour Mill on Loundana Road, the Police Team from Police Post Battal Ballian intercepted a suspicious individual who tried to evade the police. Upon frisking, 5.99 grams of heroin-like substance were recovered from Akhilesh Sharma, son of Vipin Kumar from Ward No. 02, Udhampur. He was arrested on the spot, and a case under the NDPS Act was registered at PS Udhampur.

In another operation near Tawi Bridge, the Police Team from Police Post Roundomail arrested Abhinandan Khajuria alias Nandu, son of Devinder Kumar, also from Ward No. 02, Udhampur. The police seized 5.60 grams of heroin-like contraband from him. An FIR No. 223/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act was filed in PS Udhampur.

These arrests highlight ongoing efforts by Udhampur police to crack down on narcotics trafficking in the region.
