The Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested two drug peddlers at Arakkonam railway station in Ranipet on Tuesday for possession of 30 kg of ganja, valued at approximately Rs15 lakh.
The accused have been identified as G. Akash Paul (27) and Mohammed Ibrahim (25), both hailing from Tripura. Following orders from Asra Garg, IGP (North Zone), special teams were deployed across the district as part of a crackdown on drug trafficking.
The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb illegal drug distribution through railway networks in the region.
