In a crackdown on drug peddling, the Anti-Narcotics Cell-1 (ANC-1) of Pune Police arrested two men near the Sinhgad Institute of Management for selling ganja. The accused, 20-year-old Nitin Bhauasaheb Gopal and 19-year-old Lucky Chhotu Pawar, both residents of Dhule, were caught with 4.801 kg of ganja valued at Rs 96,020 and two mobile phones worth Rs 20,000.
The arrests were made by a police team led by Senior Police Inspector Ulhas Kadum, Assistant Police Inspector Aniket Pote, and Police Sub-Inspector Vaishali Bhosale. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailash Balkawade and Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingle.
Authorities are investigating how the accused acquired the ganja and whether they are part of a larger drug trafficking network. The bust took place near the college gate on Sinhgad Road, Pune.
