Two Chinese Nationals Arrested for Cambodian Teen’s Murder

Victim found buried in Phnom Penh with hands tied

Phnom Penh, Cambodia – Authorities have arrested two Chinese nationals in connection with the murder of a Cambodian teenage girl, whose naked body was found buried with her hands tied in Phnom Penh’s Dangkor district on Saturday.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Hem Chamroeun of the Penal Police Department, the suspects have been identified as Cheng Cong, 30, who was the victim’s boyfriend, and Li Hao, 34. Both suspects were living in a rental condo in Chamkar Mon district’s Tonle Bassac commune before their arrest.

The suspects were taken into custody yesterday and have been sent to court for legal proceedings. Authorities continue to investigate the case.
