Two Charged in New Haven Fatal Double Shooting

Philip Masucci, Lisa Wedemeyer Face Criminal Charges

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Two individuals are facing charges in connection with a fatal double shooting in New Haven last April, police announced.

The incident occurred on April 7, when the suspects from Orange met 49-year-old Clifford Capehart and 39-year-old Keron Troutman for a narcotics transaction, which escalated into an exchange of gunfire. Both Capehart and Troutman were allegedly armed.

Police responding to Winter Street and Goffe Street found the victims with gunshot wounds. One died at the scene, while the other succumbed at the hospital.

32-year-old Philip Masucci, a convicted felon, was taken into custody on October 25. He faces charges including carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, criminal possession of ammunition, and tampering with evidence. Masucci remains in custody on a $350,000 bond.

35-year-old Lisa Wedemeyer was charged with tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution. She was taken into custody on October 27 and released on a $25,000 bond.

The investigation remains active, and police urge anyone with information to contact New Haven Police Department detectives.

A press conference regarding the case was held at New Haven Police Department headquarters on Thursday at noon.
