Two Bolingbrook men, Denzzel D. McCullum (27) and Carlos Miller (39), were arrested in New Lenox on Tuesday after police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. The suspects now face multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and having outstanding arrest warrants.
The incident began at 5:38 p.m. when the Will County Sheriff’s Office notified New Lenox police about a stolen vehicle traveling east on Route 30. New Lenox officers located the vehicle near Ross and T.J. Maxx, where McCullum, the driver, refused to comply with the officer’s commands. After struggling with the officer, McCullum was arrested with the assistance of a sheriff’s deputy. Upon arrest, McCullum was found in possession of a narcotics pipe and had active warrants out of DuPage County and Naperville.
Meanwhile, officers discovered Miller had been in the vehicle and had fled on foot. After a brief chase, Miller was arrested near White Castle, where he was found with a bag of pills that field-tested positive for fentanyl. Miller also had active warrants from Will and Grundy counties.
Both men were treated for minor injuries at Silver Cross Hospital before being transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
