Two Arrested with Heroin at Banderdewa Check Gate in Arunachal Pradesh

Police seize 150.70 grams of heroin in Papum Pare drug bust

In a significant drug trafficking bust, a police team intercepted an attempt at the Banderdewa check gate in Papum Pare, Arunachal Pradesh, and seized 150.70 grams of heroin. The operation was carried out following reliable intelligence about a drug smuggling attempt.

Two suspects, Chiging Arjun (25) and Gyati Tagiang (23), both from Ziro, were arrested after being found in possession of 23 vials containing orangish-colored heroin. The heroin, with a street value of over Rs70 lakh, was concealed in their possession. The search was conducted in the presence of independent witnesses, as per police sources.

A case has been registered at the Banderdewa Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Authorities have launched further investigations to track the source of the heroin and dismantle the trafficking network.

The police emphasized their commitment to cracking down on drug trafficking in the region and continuing efforts to target the supply chain behind this illegal trade.
