Winnipeg, Manitoba – Two men have been arrested in Winnipeg after police tracked a stolen 2025 Ram 1500 pickup truck using its GPS system. The incident unfolded on Friday night when the Camrose Police Service notified Winnipeg police about the stolen vehicle, which was registered with Alberta licence plates.
The GPS system led officers to the 1300 block of Pembina Highway, where the truck was parked the following day at approximately 12:19 p.m. Police observed the vehicle being started remotely and waited as two suspects approached the truck and tried to enter. Both men were arrested without incident.
Upon searching the suspects, one was found in possession of a stolen credit card, while the other had multiple outstanding warrants for fraud and identity theft dating back to 2020 and 2021.
James Yeboah, 25, from Calgary, has been charged with possessing property obtained by crime, both over $5,000 and under $5,000. Jeffery Ofori, 30, from Winnipeg, faces charges for possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000, in addition to warrants for identity fraud, using forged documents, and fraud over $5,000.
Both men remain in custody as the investigation continues.
