Venjaramoodu Police and the district Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force arrested two men involved in drug trafficking during a joint operation at Vamanapuram on Wednesday.
The accused were identified as Sebin Philip of Thalikuzhi and Chethan Babu of Kanichode. Authorities recovered 12.46 grams of MDMA from the duo, who allegedly operated under the guise of a car rental business to distribute narcotics.
Police said the men were sitting inside a parked car when their suspicious behavior prompted a check. A body search revealed the MDMA packed in small packets, which the accused admitted were intended for delivery to customers who had placed orders.
The car used for trafficking, registered in Babu’s wife’s name, was also seized. Police reported that the duo sold narcotics to regular clients across multiple locations within the city limits, earning lakhs of rupees through their operation.
Authorities added that Sebin Philip has multiple prior cases related to drugs, while Chethan Babu faces cases linked to vehicle theft. The investigation is ongoing to identify other potential accomplices and customers.
