Vellore Taluk police arrested M. Rajamani (28) and N. Sadiq Basha (54) on Wednesday for stealing four sovereigns of gold jewelry, silver objects, and Rs10,000 in cash from homes in Kaniyambadi village, near Vellore town.
The arrested individuals, who both hail from Ranipet town, had known each other for many years. Police revealed that the two had been unemployed for several months, which led them to steal from isolated homes in the village areas around Vellore.
The stolen items were recovered, and further investigations are ongoing.
