TULSA, Okla. — Two murder suspects have been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose remains were discovered in Muskogee County. Juan Luviano, 40, was reported missing to Tulsa Police on December 21 after he was last seen on December 19 in Tulsa.
The Tulsa Police Department initially suspected foul play in the case and gathered evidence that led investigators outside of their jurisdiction, prompting the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) to take over the case.
On Monday, OSBI officers conducted a search in a wooded area near Spaniard Creek in Muskogee County, where they discovered human remains. The remains were later identified as belonging to Luviano.
Following the discovery, investigators identified 22-year-old Maria Guadalupe and 19-year-old Irwin Medina as suspects in the case. Both were arrested in Tulsa on Wednesday and booked into the Muskogee County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy.
This tragic incident highlights the collaborative efforts of local and state authorities in solving violent crimes, with the OSBI playing a crucial role in the investigation.
