Police have successfully arrested two individuals, including the prime accused, in connection with the armed robbery at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Bahalda, where Rs20 lakh was looted at gunpoint on February 20. The accused, identified as Pappu alias Rajeev Ranjan Kumar and Santosh alias Pramod Bind, were apprehended with the assistance of the Special Task Force (STF) and Bihar Police in Patna district, Bihar.
According to Varun Guntupalli, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Mayurbhanj, Pappu was found in possession of Rs14 lakh, while Santosh had Rs1.19 lakh on him. Both suspects are now in police custody and will be produced before the court. The police have confirmed that efforts are still underway to apprehend the remaining individuals involved in the robbery.
The armed robbery at the SBI branch had sent shockwaves through the region, but with the swift action of law enforcement agencies, significant progress has been made in solving the case. Authorities are continuing their investigation and tracking down the remaining suspects.
