In a significant breakthrough, Kalaburagi police arrested two individuals involved in a theft at a solar company near Kalakamba village. The suspects, identified as Yerakal Ramkrishna Yarakal (31) and Yallaiah (35), both residents of Atmakuri in Telangana’s Wanaparthi district, were apprehended on Thursday.
The stolen goods, including 120 feet of MC-4 and MCS cables valued at around Rs 1 lakh, were recovered from the suspects. Additionally, Rs 80,000 in cash, a cutting player, and an iron hammer used in the crime were seized by the authorities.
The theft was reported by Mohan Satyanarayan Rangan, the site in-charge of the company. Acting swiftly on the complaint, a police team led by CPI Mahadev, along with PSI Manjunath, ASI Rama Reddy, and Crime Squad members Honnappa, Nagaraj, and Balakrishna Reddy, carried out an investigation.
Their efforts led them to intercept the suspects near the Saibaba temple in Atmakura village in Telangana, where they were caught in possession of the stolen items. Further investigations revealed the duo’s involvement in the crime, and they have since been arrested.
