Two men wanted in connection with the murder of Sudhir Kunjbihari Singh in Palghar district were apprehended by the police on Friday after being on the run for nearly a year.
Rohan Vishwanath Singh (28) and Akhilesh Yadav (24) were arrested in Virar, a Mumbai suburb. Deputy Commissioner of Police Jayant Bajbale confirmed that the two were part of a 12-member gang involved in the abduction and subsequent murder of 27-year-old Sudhir Singh on January 12, 2024. According to police reports, the victim was abducted and transported in an autorickshaw to Goraipada, where he was attacked with sharp weapons and killed.
The police investigation revealed that Singh and Yadav, along with others in the gang, meticulously planned and carried out the brutal crime. Following their arrest, both individuals have been charged under Sections 302 (murder), 364 (kidnapping or abduction for murder), and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
