Two men accused of brutally killing a father-son duo in Murshidabad, West Bengal, have been arrested in Jharsuguda district, Odisha. The arrests, made on Monday (April 21, 2025), came after a dedicated operation by West Bengal’s Special Task Force, which tracked down the suspects across state lines.
Haragobindo Das (77) and his son Chandan Das (40) were tragically murdered on April 12 during violent protests related to the Waqf (Amendment) Act in Jafrabad. The attackers allegedly ransacked their house during the chaos. The murders have sparked significant outrage and brought attention to the ongoing unrest surrounding the Waqf Act.
West Bengal Police, in collaboration with Odisha authorities, succeeded in locating the suspects in Jharsuguda, leading to their prompt arrest. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are continuing to gather information about the events leading up to the tragic deaths of the father and son.
