ASHEBORO, N.C. – A 15-year-old girl has been rescued from a human trafficking situation in North Carolina after an AMBER Alert was issued on Thursday.

Authorities say the teen had been missing since February 21, prompting the Siler City Police Department to call in the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the FBI for assistance.

Following a coordinated effort, law enforcement located the victim around 7:45 p.m. on West Strider Street in Asheboro. She was found in the company of Ronny Suarez, one of the two suspects involved in the case.

The second suspect, Saul Ramirez Guvara, was arrested at a Quality Inn in Kinston. Both men now face multiple charges, including first-degree kidnapping, human trafficking of a child victim, and soliciting a child by computer.

Authorities praised the teamwork between local, state, and federal agencies in bringing the teen to safety. The NCSBI thanked the Siler City Police Department, FBI, Chatham County Sheriff’s Department, Asheboro Police Department, and the local community for their collaboration in the investigation.
