KNOW, Ind. — A routine traffic stop early Friday morning led to the arrest of two individuals on multiple drug-related charges after a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K9 detected narcotics in their vehicle.

At approximately 1:20 a.m. on February 21, Deputy Blake Bennett stopped a vehicle near the intersection of 7th and King Roads. The driver was Kyle Lisac, 39, of Knox, and the passenger was Rachel Berdine, 48.

During the stop, K9 Diesel performed an open-air sniff around the vehicle and alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics. A probable cause search was conducted, revealing multiple firearms, suspected fentanyl, suspected methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Both Lisac and Berdine were booked into the Marshall County Jail on the following charges:

Possession of Methamphetamine, More than 28 Grams – Level 3 Felony

Possession of Cocaine or a Narcotic Drug, Less than 5 Grams with an Enhancing Circumstance – Level 5 Felony

Possession of Paraphernalia – Class C Misdemeanor

Each was issued a $40,000 bond. Level 3 felonies in Indiana carry potential sentences of three to sixteen years in prison, while Level 5 felonies carry potential sentences of one to six years.
