KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — Two northeast Missouri residents, Cody Evart Ralls, 36, and Rosa Ruth Melson, 55, were arrested after a drug bust at their Kirksville home. Authorities with the North Missouri Drug Task Force, Adair County Sheriff’s Office, Kirksville Police Department, and Missouri State Highway Patrol executed a search warrant at the residence on East Burton Street on Friday.

Upon searching the home, law enforcement seized approximately one pound of methamphetamine and half a gram of cocaine, both of which are Schedule 2 controlled substances. Officers also discovered numerous pills scattered throughout the property, along with a variety of drug paraphernalia, including baggies, scales, and glass pipes. Some of the pipes tested positive for methamphetamine residue.

In addition to drugs and paraphernalia, several firearms were found in the house, including multiple pistols, rifles, and a shotgun.

Both Melson and Ralls were taken into custody and booked at the Adair County Detention Center. They are facing 2nd-degree drug trafficking charges, a Class A felony, and three counts each of possession of a controlled substance. Ralls is facing an additional possession charge.

Both suspects are being held without bond and are awaiting an initial court appearance.
