Based on a tip-off about a gang involved in producing and distributing fake educational certificates, the police detained Pushkar Goel, a resident of Green Park, Jalandhar, originally from Kapurthala, and Varinder Kumar from Mota Singh Nagar, Jalandhar. During their arrest, authorities seized a range of materials, including 196 fake degrees, 53 rubber stamps, 16 passports, six laptops, three printers, a stamp-making machine, and eight mobile phones.
The operation, which was led by ADCP 2 Aditya, culminated in the filing of an FIR under various sections at the Sadar Jalandhar police station. The gang was allegedly involved in issuing fraudulent degrees for multiple programs, including engineering, medical, and management courses, targeting students from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
