WARREN COUNTY, Miss. – Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the July 9 homicide of Gary Michael “Cowboy” McAlpin on Jeff Davis Road.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace announced that investigators arrested Leslie Ann Harrison, 37, on July 29, charging her with accessory before the fact of murder. She was arraigned before Justice Court Judge Edwin Woods, who set her bond at $500,000.
Days later, on July 31, authorities arrested Calvin Randall Harrison, 44, charging him with murder. During his court appearance on Monday, Special County Court Judge John Price denied him bail.
The investigation began when a deputy was flagged down in the 6600 block of Jeff Davis Road on July 9. Responding officers found McAlpin deceased inside a residence, suffering from gunshot wounds.
On July 30, investigators recovered a .22-caliber rifle from a creek bank several miles away. Authorities believe it is the murder weapon, and it has been sent for ballistic testing.
Sheriff Pace confirmed that the victim and suspects had a prior relationship but declined to provide further details due to the ongoing investigation. The Harrisons were reportedly last known to reside in Yazoo County but do not have a permanent address.
The investigation remains active.
