HOLLISTON, Mass. — Two 18-year-olds have been charged following the theft of two semi-automatic rifles from the Mass Firearms School in Holliston last month.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office announced that Jason Liberis of Oxford and Bryan Ayala Perez of Johnston, Rhode Island, face multiple charges including:
Breaking and entering at night
Breaking and entering from a firearms dealer
Unlawful possession of a firearm
Unlawful possession of a large-capacity weapon
Conspiracy
Liberis was arrested at his home in Oxford and arraigned in Framingham District Court, held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing. Ayala Perez was arrested in Palm Springs, Florida, and is set to be extradited.
Holliston police responded to the store at 100 Kuniholm Drive around 11:19 p.m. on October 30 after receiving a break-in report. Officers found the front glass door smashed. Surveillance footage showed three suspects at the scene, two inside the store. A K-9 unit assisted in searching the building, which was found empty.
Store owners later discovered that two semi-automatic rifles had been stolen. Video confirmed the suspects exited through the same entry point and fled in a stolen vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing, led by Holliston and state police, the DA’s office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The stolen rifles have not yet been recovered.
