ASANKRANGWA, Ghana — The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two men in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man on Sunday, August 17, 2025, in the Asankrangwa Education Area.
In a statement issued by the police, preliminary investigations revealed that the young man was chased and stabbed multiple times by a group following a misunderstanding between the victim and one of the suspects, Kwasi Opong, aged 36.
Police say the swift response led to the arrest of Opong and 23-year-old William Francis Osei, who are currently in custody and assisting with investigations. A third suspect remains on the run, with authorities actively pursuing leads to bring him into custody.
The victim’s body has been deposited at the Asankrangwa Catholic Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
The police have called on the public to assist with any information that could lead to the arrest of the remaining suspect, assuring that justice will be served.
