DELAWARE, Ohio (WSYX) — Two men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery involving a luxury watch sale arranged through Facebook Marketplace.

On July 30, 2025, a minor agreed to meet a buyer at a Cane’s restaurant in Delaware, Ohio, to sell luxury watches valued at $11,100. According to police, the minor entered a Honda sedan driven by 18-year-old Mohamed A. Mohamed. Shortly after, 22-year-old Abdi-Najib Ahmed Hamoud emerged from the backseat and held a gun to the minor’s neck, demanding the watches. The driver reportedly told the minor to “come on bro.”

Law enforcement used Flock cameras to track the vehicle to Mohamed, who was identified by the minor in a photo lineup as the driver involved in the robbery. Investigators also found photos on Mohamed’s phone showing him wearing one of the stolen watches and holding a gun matching the weapon used in the robbery.

Additionally, Mohamed’s phone contained a search for the Cane’s restaurant address on the day of the incident and was linked to the Facebook account used to arrange the meeting.

Hamoud was arrested by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office after a pursuit, during which he allegedly ran over a deputy’s foot. Both men have been charged with first-degree felony aggravated robbery.

Hamoud is being held on a $350,000 surety bond, while Mohamed’s bond is set at $250,000. Both suspects have been ordered to wear electronic monitors for house arrest or GPS tracking upon release.
