FRESNO, Calif. – Two men, Kobe Chantharangsy and Adrian Echeverria, have been arrested following a deadly shooting at a barbershop in Fresno, California, on April 19. The shooting resulted in the death of 44-year-old Jampier Quintero, an innocent bystander who had brought his children to the Los Viejones Barbershop for Easter haircuts.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the violence occurred when Chantharangsy, who was reportedly receiving a haircut, opened fire from his barber’s chair through the cape covering his chest. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
In addition to Quintero’s death, two other individuals were injured but have since been released from the hospital. Quintero’s family, who had immigrated from Caracas, Venezuela, just a few years ago seeking asylum, was devastated by the incident.
Quintero’s wife, Gabriela Lopez, expressed relief after the suspects’ arrest, calling Chantharangsy a “danger to humanity” and describing him as the embodiment of evil.
Police identified Chantharangsy after linking him to a separate shooting that occurred the day before, on April 18. He was arrested on Saturday and charged with suspicion of murder and other related offenses. Echeverria was arrested on charges of accessory to the crime.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and authorities continue to seek information from the public.
