MINDEN, Nev. (KOLO) — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) has announced the arrest of Larry Allen Arnold, 48, from Carson City, and Melissa Nicole Malmstedt (also known as Melissa Clack), 42, from Minden, in connection with a 2023 murder.
The Murder Investigation:
The arrests come after an investigation into the death of Paul Adam Mulkey, 42, who was found dead on August 14, 2023, along Stephanie Way in Minden. Authorities have not released further details about the cause of Mulkey’s death.
The Arrests:
Arnold was apprehended in Towner, North Dakota, and booked into the Heart of America Correctional & Treatment Center on a no bail warrant issued by the East Fork Justice Court. He faces charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Malmstedt was arrested at her home in Minden by DCSO officers and booked into the Minden Jail Facility, also on a no bail warrant. She, too, faces charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Ongoing Investigation:
Both Arnold and Malmstedt are expected to appear in court as the investigation continues into Mulkey’s death. Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the case, but the arrests mark a significant development in the investigation.
