Two Arrested in Carthage Drug Bust Involving Meth, Suboxone, and Xanax

Mitchell Goins and Travis Alfred face multiple drug charges in Moore County

Two men are facing charges after a drug investigation in Carthage, North Carolina, resulted in the seizure of several controlled substances.

On November 19, 2024, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office concluded their investigation in the 1000 block of Monroe Street. Authorities discovered prescription medications being illegally distributed, including Suboxone, Xanax, methamphetamine, and various drug paraphernalia.

Mitchell Goins, 40, of Carthage, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, delivery of a Schedule III controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Goins was given a $100,000 secured bond, and a court date is scheduled for December 18.

Travis Alfred, 49, of Fayetteville, was also arrested and faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Alfred’s secured bond was set at $10,000, with his court appearance also scheduled for December 18.
