Two Arrested in Canyon Country Jewelry Heist, $8,000 Recovered

Suspects apprehended shortly after allegedly stealing jewelry from local store

CANYON COUNTRY, Calif. — Two men have been arrested following a jewelry theft at a business in Canyon Country last week.

At approximately 12:50 p.m. on Friday, deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of grand theft at a business on the 20700 block of Centre Pointe Parkway, according to spokesperson Shirley Miller.

Miller said the suspects, Eric Ruyak, 39, of Playa Vista, and Emerson Olivera da Silva, 34, of Hollywood, allegedly entered the store, placed roughly $8,000 worth of jewelry into bags, and left without paying.
