Two Arrested for Murder After Man Found Dead in Anaheim Motel

Homicide Investigation Leads to Arrests of Manuel Ramos and Matthew Kundrat

ANAHEIM, California — A murder investigation is underway following the discovery of a deceased man at the Akua Motor Inn, with two suspects arrested, Anaheim police reported.

On February 3, 2025, at approximately 10:15 a.m., officers from the Anaheim Police Department responded to a call at the Akua Motor Inn located at 1018 E Orangethorpe Ave. Upon arrival, officers found a 63-year-old male victim with obvious signs of traumatic injury. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives began their investigation, which quickly led to the identification of two suspects. On February 5, 2025, 44-year-old Manuel Ramos of Santa Ana, California, and 28-year-old Matthew Kundrat, a transient, were arrested and charged with murder. The Anaheim Police Department confirmed there are no other outstanding suspects in the case.

The victim’s identity has been withheld pending confirmation by the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner’s office. Further details on the investigation have not been released as it remains ongoing.
