Two Arrested for Mobile Theft During Eid Celebrations in Bhubaneswar

Dropadi Singh and Puja Singh caught attempting to flee after stealing mobile phones

Dropadi Singh (19) and Puja Singh (20), both hailing from Purulia, West Bengal, were arrested at Bhubaneswar Railway Station while attempting to flee the city after allegedly stealing mobile phones amidst the Eid celebrations.

The Capital Police Station led the investigation, which resulted in the recovery of five stolen mobile phones from the suspects’ possession. Authorities have registered three separate cases related to the theft, which occurred in the midst of large gatherings during the festive period. The suspects are believed to have exploited the rush to carry out their crimes.

In a press release issued by the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate, officials confirmed that further investigations are underway to determine whether the suspects were involved in other similar offenses.

The swift police response helped prevent further thefts, and the investigation continues to explore additional details about the suspects’ criminal activities.
