Two Arrested for Illegal Drugs in Syangja, Nepal

Police recover controlled substances from motorcycle inspection

By Arjun Kafle, Syangja, Feb. 26 — Two individuals were arrested with illegal drugs during a special police operation at Zero Chowk, Arjun Chaupari Rural Municipality-1, the District Police Office of Syangja reported.

The operation, led by a special police team, took place during a vehicle inspection, during which controlled substances were recovered from a motorcycle (Na 32 Pa 8259).

The suspects have been identified as 29-year-old Uttam Bahadur Thapa Magar and 27-year-old Anis Thapa Magar, both residents of Arjun Chaupari–1.

Police said they recovered five ampoules each of Diazepam Injection IP, Phenergan, and Buprenorphine from the suspects’ possession. Additionally, the motorcycle and two mobile phones were taken into custody for further investigation, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Prasanna Raj Chaudhary.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the source of the drugs and potential links to larger trafficking networks in the region.
