Summerville, S.C. – Two Arrested for Drug Trafficking and Weapons Possession Following Citizen Tip
A citizen tip helped lead Dorchester County deputies to arrest Maxim Tony Iusico, 23, of Myrtle Beach, and David Charles Lord Jr., 48, of Summerville, on charges related to drug trafficking and weapon possession.
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling the Walmart Neighborhood Market on the 10600 block of Dorchester Road in Summerville when they received a tip about suspicious activity occurring behind the store.
Upon investigating, deputies encountered two men who matched the descriptions provided in the tip. After speaking with Iusico and Lord, deputies obtained permission to search one of their vehicles. Inside, they discovered:
Three loaded long rifles
Two handguns
Two clear plastic bags containing a clear, shard-like substance
Three bags of an off-white, grayish powdery substance
The substances in the vehicle were suspected to be methamphetamine and fentanyl, leading to both men being charged with trafficking methamphetamine and trafficking fentanyl. Additionally, Iusico faces a possession of a weapon during a violent crime charge due to the firearms found.
Sheriff Sam Richardson commended the deputies for their diligence in removing deadly drugs from the community, stating, “The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office has zero tolerance for individuals who traffic deadly drugs in our community. Protecting the safety, security, and quality of life for our citizens is our highest priority.”
Both men were booked into the L.C. Knight Detention Center as the investigation continues.
