The Prohibition and Excise Department has arrested two individuals, Varun and Prabhu Chaitanya, both of whom had pursued higher education in the United Kingdom, for their involvement in smuggling narcotics. Along with their associate Kiran, the trio had been trafficking MDMA and OG Kush, which they received from a Nigerian national based in Bengaluru, and sold to local customers.
Varun and Prabhu, after returning to India from the UK, were introduced to the Nigerian national, who lured them into the illegal drug trade by supplying them with narcotics. With Kiran’s help, they established a network in Bengaluru to distribute drugs.
Based on a tip-off, the Prohibition and Excise enforcement team apprehended the three individuals, seizing 2.58 grams of MDMA, 38.56 grams of OG Kush, a motorcycle, and three mobile phones. Authorities are now on the lookout for three additional suspects who are still at large, connected to Varun’s drug operation.
