Two young men have been arrested in Adamawa State on charges of armed robbery. The suspects, Hamza Ibrahim, 19, and Abdulkarim Suleiman, 20, were apprehended on Sunday, January 19, after being implicated in multiple robbery incidents around the state capital, Yola.

The Adamawa State Police Command reported that the suspects were part of a criminal group known as the Shila Boys. A tricycle, a sharp knife, and stolen handsets were recovered from the men after their arrest.

The police received a tip-off from a concerned citizen about a robbery incident involving the suspects, who were using a tricycle to carry out their crimes along Yola Road. The men had allegedly robbed Uba Ibrahim of his iPhone XR at Jippu Jam Gate in Yola.

Responding quickly, police operatives from the Karewa Divisional Police Headquarters intercepted the suspects at Malamre Junction. During further investigation, it was revealed that the suspects had also stolen an iPhone 7 from Bello Babangida along the Jimeta-Yola road earlier. Both phones and the tricycle used in the crimes were recovered at the scene.

The suspects are currently under investigation as the police continue to gather information.
