Maharashtra’s Latur police have arrested two absconding suspects, Azhar Mohammad and Gajendra Sarwade, from Hyderabad, in connection with the murder of a teacher last month. With these arrests, the total number of arrests in the case has now risen to nine.

The incident occurred on April 26 during a violent altercation over the celebration of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. During the clash, Guruling Hasure, a local teacher, suffered serious injuries and later succumbed to them.

A case was registered against nine people, including Mohammad and Sarwade. While seven of the accused were apprehended earlier, the duo had managed to evade arrest.

Based on a tip-off, the police learned that Mohammad and Sarwade were hiding in Hyderabad. A police team was dispatched to the city, where they successfully apprehended the duo. Following their arrest, the two suspects were presented in court, and they have been remanded in police custody until May 13, according to Police Sub-Inspector Ajay Patil.

The case continues to be under investigation as authorities work to ensure justice for the victim and complete the arrest of all involved.
