Davenport, IA – Twin brothers from Davenport, Deemond and Deeavion Chamberlain, both 18, have been arrested in connection with two separate incidents that occurred in June, according to Scott County Jail records.
🔸 Deemond Chamberlain – Shooting Incident
On June 28 at around 11:45 p.m., Davenport Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 2000 block of W. Second Street. Upon arrival, officers found damage to nearby homes and vehicles. Surveillance footage later showed a passenger firing multiple shots from a moving vehicle. Muzzle flashes confirmed gunfire directed at an unknown individual in a yard.
Police later stopped the suspect vehicle in the 200 block of Marquette Street. Three individuals fled the scene on foot. Deemond Chamberlain was apprehended with a black Ruger EC9 handgun found in his waistband.
He allegedly struck two occupied residences during the shooting. Charges against Deemond include:
Intimidation with a dangerous weapon
Interference with official acts causing bodily injury
Interference with a weapon
Two counts of possession of a controlled substance
Deemond is being held on a $30,000 cash-only bond and is scheduled for a pretrial conference on September 19.
🔸 Deeavion Chamberlain – Assault Incident
On June 14 at approximately 3:25 a.m., officers responded to the 7200 block of Hillandale Road for a domestic assault. Deeavion Chamberlain is accused of repeatedly striking a victim in the head during an argument, causing visible injuries including forehead lumps and a cut above the lip.
While the victim was on the phone with 911, Deeavion allegedly grabbed the phone and threw it against a wall, damaging it beyond repair. The device, worth about $500, was cracked on both sides. He fled before officers arrived and refused to respond to calls from police.
Deeavion was arrested on September 3 and charged with:
Assault causing bodily injury
Obstruction of emergency communication (911)
Fourth-degree criminal mischief
He was released on a $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on September 12.
