Two Delhi brothers — identical twins — pulled off a real-life “Dhoom 3-style” heist to steal high-end motorcycles and scooters across Delhi-NCR, police said. Their unusual modus operandi allowed them to evade authorities for months until their arrest in Noida on Monday.
The gang of four, including the twin brothers Arman (alias Sutta) and Ulman, was apprehended for stealing bikes and selling their parts, collectively worth Rs 15 lakh. Police said the twins’ resemblance allowed them to mislead investigators by frequently swapping roles — one brother would sit calmly at a shop as an alibi while the other carried out thefts in nearby colonies, housing societies, offices, and factories.
Investigators recovered 15 stolen two-wheelers and a large cache of dismantled parts, including 12 fuel tanks, 5 silencers, 5 masks, 4 mudguards, and 2 tyre rims.
Police said the gang conducted careful surveillance before targeting vehicles. After stealing the bikes, they either dismantled them at scrap shops and sold the parts at high prices or disposed of entire motorcycles in other states.
The other members of the gang were identified as Shadab (alias Rutba) and Vijay. Police noted that the twins’ identical appearance and constant role-swapping enabled the gang to carry out rapid thefts within minutes, repeatedly evading witnesses and CCTV cameras — until their arrest.
Authorities said the arrest of the twin brothers was key to breaking the case and recovering the stolen motorcycles and parts.
