In a swift crackdown, the Cubbon Park police raided a pub on Rest House Road on Saturday and arrested four individuals, including a drug peddler, for organising an event where liquor and tobacco products were served in the presence of 10 minor children.
Acting on a tip-off, police discovered the event was being held illegally, with minors in attendance and contraband substances in use. Among those arrested was Tushar Gowda, 25, who was caught with three grams of ganja.
The other arrested individuals have been identified as Prasanna Das, the pub manager; Deepthi C.A., 23; and Atheesh Kumar Gowda, 27, who was one of the event organisers.
Police have charged the group under multiple sections of the NDPS Act, Juvenile Justice Act, and other relevant laws for endangering minors and drug possession.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine if more individuals were involved or if similar events were hosted at the venue previously.
