Major cocaine and marijuana seizure in South Delhi

The Delhi Police have executed a significant drug bust, seizing over 560 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of marijuana, valued at more than Rs5000 crore. The drugs were allegedly transported to the capital by an international network, leading to the arrest of four individuals late Tuesday night.

According to police reports, the arrests occurred around 9 PM in the Mahipalpur Extension area of South Delhi, conducted by the Special Cell. A police officer noted, “The drugs seized have an international market value exceeding Rs5000 crore.”

The authorities revealed that the narcotics were intended for distribution across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), particularly due to the high demand during the festive season. After receiving a tip-off four months prior, the Special Cell closely monitored the suspects’ movements, with investigations also exploring potential narco-terror links.

Police officials stated that the drugs originated from South America, passing through the Middle East, while the marijuana was imported from Thailand. Following their arrival in India, the substances were transported from various states into Delhi. “A thorough investigation into the transportation routes is currently underway,” added a police officer familiar with the case.

The police discovered that the drug consignment was being stored at a publishing factory owned by the primary accused, Tushar Goel, a 40-year-old resident of Vasant Vihar. The Special Cell executed a raid at the factory on Tuesday night, where all four suspects were present.

According to Pramod Singh Kushwaha, Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), “Tushar’s handlers are based in the Middle East, and he was the principal distributor in Delhi. The extent of the drug network is still under investigation.”

Investigators revealed that Tushar was responsible for receiving and storing the drug consignment, while his associates Auranzeb and Himanshu were in charge of distribution. Auranzeb, a long-time driver of Tushar from Uttar Pradesh, had recently joined the syndicate. The fourth suspect, Bharat Jain, had traveled from Kurla, Mumbai, to collect a 15 kg cocaine consignment for distribution in Mumbai.

“Tushar Goel and his publishing house were under surveillance by the Delhi Police for four months. Although he has no prior criminal record, he had gained notoriety in the Delhi drug market recently,” remarked a police officer.

To avoid detection, payments for the drug consignment were made using USDT (Ether), according to police reports.
