EUGENE, Ore. — Ryan Gossett, 39, of Turner, Oregon, was sentenced to 210 months (nearly 18 years) in federal prison today for drug trafficking, following a coordinated investigation led by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO).
Gossett, who has a history of drug-related convictions, was apprehended on April 26, 2024, in Bend after fleeing prosecution in Marion County on armed robbery charges. At the time of his arrest, authorities found him in possession of a handgun and small amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Two days later, law enforcement executed a search warrant on Gossett’s vehicle, uncovering over 900 grams of methamphetamine, 330 grams of fentanyl, and firearm magazines. The substantial quantities led to federal drug trafficking charges.
On June 20, 2024, Gossett was formally indicted and later pleaded guilty on July 9, 2025, to possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine. In addition to the prison sentence, he was ordered to serve five years of supervised release upon completion of his term.
The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Detectives Division, the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team, and the United States Marshals Service.
Gossett’s sentencing underscores law enforcement’s commitment to combatting the trafficking of dangerous substances like methamphetamine and fentanyl, which continue to pose serious threats to communities across Oregon and the nation.
